Job Requirements

The successful candidate understands the business of distribution and warehouse management and has previously played a lead role in at least one Oracle 11.5.9 / 11.5.10 WMS implementation, including MSCA (Mobile Supply Chain Applications).

The Web Application Architect is responsible for the continuing implementations of current Intranet and Internet web applications. The individual must be able to design, implement, and enhance the new applications under company standards and guidelines: and to communicate the detailed technology architecture, development methodology, as well as implementation strategy to the project managers and project team.
In addition, the individual will review and approve the project design model, and must be able to influence the application development team to design and build quality applications within standard architectures. The candidate will work efficiently with the IT management team to handle multiple project assignments. Schedule and balance the work load with project managers, resolve issues escalated to architecture level.
It is critical that this individual have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to audiences of varying technical aptitude and organizational levels. This individual must have the ability to lead people, gain consensus and foster teamwork among the various technical and business groups.
SUMMARY OF ACCOUNTABILITES:
Examples of responsibilities of this position may include, but not limited to;
Leading and mentoring the ITS web application support team to maintain and enhance the web applications such as: Yardi, Agentis, HOP, and Filenet
Collaborating with project managers and users to assess the needs of either "buy-or build" industrial or commercial software or hardware.
Supporting the IT department's activities to effectively ensure completion of the web application.
Engineering high level requirements to derive system specs, architecture specs, functional specs, detailed design specs and feasibility prototypes
Developing different test scripts with business users and developers to ensure the quality of web application.
Supporting data model development interoperability of the various web applications
Organizing application documentations and training materials to ensure thorough knowledge transfer in order to provide an integrated, reliable production environment.
Participate in various project meetings to provide architecture development status, and to communicate architecture concepts across different projects.
Identifying risk and providing recommendations to mitigate and or eliminate risk
Interfacing with different development teams, and capable to contribute in a fast paced, integrated team environment.
Conducting and participating code review of either in-house developed or vendor-supplied applications.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
5+ years web development for consumer and or enterprise applications.
3+ years in a technical lead role. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage technical project efforts for large-scale, mission-critical, performance optimized, secure and distributed systems development.
Expertise in Java, J2EE, Application servers. Significant knowledge of HTML, VB Script, JavaScript. Hands-on experience with XML.
Experience with Source conntrol tools, such as: CVS or VSS.
Understand multi-tier application architecture and design including OOAD, relational databases, web services, message queue, imaging, workflow, LDAP and security integration.
Proficiency with UML models that support both requirements analysis and architectural definition.
Must be familiar with and have applied best design practices, design patterns and principles in modeling and software development framework.
Knowledge of interface design, software development, wireless technology, networking technology.
Extensive database application experience (Oracle preferred) including SQL, PL/SQL, ODBC and JDBC.
Batchelor's Degree (preferably in Computer Science). Master Degree in Computer Science is a plus.
